Air India Express Surat to Bangkok flight: Alcohol sales, passenger buzz and key details Air India Express recently launched a 4-hour flight connecting Surat in Gujarat to Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. The first flight operated on a Boeing 737-8 had almost full capacity with 175 passengers and six crew members.

The aircraft has a maximum seating capacity of 176. The budget airline reported good alcohol sales during the flight, with some social media users claiming that the alcohol stock ran out midway through the flight. However, airline officials clarified that there was adequate stock of both alcohol and food on the plane, dismissing the social media allegations.

Passengers could choose from five types of alcohol, with prices starting at ₹400 for 50 ml of Red Label, Bacardi White Rum or Beefeater Gin. Chivas Regal (50 ml) was priced at ₹600, while a 330 ml can of Bira Lager was priced at ₹400.

Officials also pointed out that passengers are generally not served more than 100 ml of alcohol during the flight. For meals, passengers had the option to either book meals in advance or buy them on the plane. The airline did not release any official statement about the event, but it has garnered attention as one of the highlights of this newly launched route.
