From November 11, 2024, Vietnam is launching an improved e-Visa portal to make travel easier for international visitors. The updated platform offers a more streamlined application process, extended stay options, and allows entry through 42 designated points, all aimed at supporting Vietnam’s growing tourism sector.
Exciting News for Travelers!
From November 11, 2024, Vietnam’s new, user-friendly e-Visa portal will simplify the visa process for visitors around the world. The upgraded platform focuses on an easy-to-use interface with new features designed to improve applicants’ experience, making travel arrangements faster and more convenient.
What is an e-Visa?
An e-Visa, or electronic visa, is a convenient travel permit you can apply for online before entering Vietnam. First introduced in February 2017, the e-Visa system has become a popular option, providing a faster and easier process than traditional visa applications.
Upgraded portal for a seamless experience
Vietnam’s e-Visa system, launched in 2017, is now even more accessible with the release of an improved platform managed by the Immigration Department under the Ministry of Public Security. Set to go live on November 11, 2024, the portal offers a more straightforward application experience with easier navigation and expanded options for travelers.
You can access the new e-Visa portal at the following sites:
- [evisa.gov.vn](https://evisa.gov.vn) (main portal)
- [evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn](https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn) (existing site)
- [thithucdientu.gov.vn](https://thithucdientu.gov.vn) (alternative URL)
Simplified Requirements for e-Visa Application
To apply, travellers will need to upload a passport photo and a scanned copy of their passport information page. The system will verify these images to match passport details, simplifying data entry. Applicants can then review and confirm their personal information, travel details, and select the appropriate visa type. These improvements are intended to reduce errors and speed up the approval process for e-Visas.
