Chai said 1.41 trillion baht is estimated to be generated in the second
half of the year, bringing the annual total to 205 million The total
will be 2.73 trillion. baht. This represents an increase of 650 billion
baht or 31% year-on-year. He further pointed out that of the total 2.73

attributed the improved performance of the tourism industry this year to
four key factors: 1. Improved travel convenience: Visa-free entry, the
removal of immigration cards and special train services have made
cross-border travel easier. 2. Increased flight availability: More
airline seats are available due to the increased number of flights from
key markets such as China, Japan, Australia, Germany and the UK, as well
as the resumption of flights suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic. 22
million seats will be available between July and December. 3. Influence
of artists and social media: Many travellers are following in the
footsteps of artists and social media influencers who have highlighted
Thailand as a must-visit tourist destination.
4. Events and
activities*: The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has organised
various festivals and events such as the Amazing Beach Life Festival and
Amazing Food Festival to attract more visitors.
Mr Chai also
mentioned that the positive performance of the tourism industry will
help increase the country's GDP by more than 3%. He said Prime Minister
Sritha Thavisin is confident that next year will be the "golden year"
for Thailand's tourism, and even better results are expected.
