The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has issued warnings for bad weather in 37 provinces, including Bangkok, with heavy rain predicted in 60% of the area. Residents should be cautious of possible flooding and forest runoff.

In the next 24 hours, the southwest monsoon is expected to strengthen in the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand. A low pressure system is also affecting upper Vietnam and the central South China Sea. This weather pattern is expected to bring more rain, with heavy to very heavy rainfall expected in some areas, especially in eastern and southwestern Thailand. People in these areas should be alert to flash floods and fast-moving water, especially near hills, rivers and low-lying areas.

Sea conditions:
-Andaman Sea: Waves will be 2 to 3 meters high, exceeding 3 meters in stormy areas.
-Gulf of Thailand: Waves will be 1 to 2 metres high, with waves exceeding 2 metres in stormy areas. Sailors are advised to be cautious and avoid stormy areas. Small boats in the Andaman Sea should stay close to shore.

Regional weather forecast (6am today to 6am tomorrow):

-Northern region: Thunderstorms in 40% of the area, mainly in Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Tak and Kamphaeng Phet. Temperature: 24-27°C (low), 34-37°C (high), southwesterly winds at 10-20km/h.

-Northeast region: Thunderstorms in 60% of the area, heavy rain in Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Si Sa Ket and Ubon Ratchathani. Temperature: 25-27°C (low), 34-37°C (high), southwesterly winds at 10-20 km/h.

-Central region: Thunderstorms in 40% of the area, heavy rain in Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi and Samut Songkhram. Temperature: 25-27°C (low), 35-37°C (high), southwesterly winds at 10-25 km/h.

-Eastern region: Thunderstorms in 70% of the area, heavy to very heavy rain in Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat. Temperature: 25-28°C (low), 31-35°C (high), southwesterly winds at 20-35 km/h. Sea waves about 2 m high, higher in stormy areas.

-Southern region (east coast): Thunderstorms in 40% of the area, mainly in Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung and Songkhla. Temperature: 24-27°C (low), 33-35°C (high), southwesterly winds at 15-35 km/h. Sea waves 1-2 m high, higher in stormy areas.

-Southern region (west coast): Thunderstorms in 70% of the area, heavy to very heavy rain in Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi and Trang. Temperature: 24-25°C (low), 29-32°C (high), southwesterly winds at 20-40 km/h. Sea waves 2-3 m high, higher in stormy areas.

-Bangkok and surrounding areas: Thunderstorms in 60% of the area. Temperature: 26-28°C (low), 34-36°C (high), southwesterly winds at 10-25 km/h.

TMD urges residents to remain vigilant and take precautions to protect themselves and their property from the bad weather expected today.
