The Sri Lankan Department of Immigration and Emigration has recently introduced a revamped visa process and online application portal, marking a significant advancement in visa services.
According to a press release, detailed in the Extraordinary Gazette No. 2360/24 dated November 27, 2023, this initiative brings about a more efficient approach with updated requirements, fees, and validity periods for visas in Sri Lanka.
In collaboration with VFS Global Institute and GBS Technology Service, the department is launching the e-visa system, replacing the current ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) method. This transition aims to enhance efficiency and convenience for travelers.
For detailed information and access to the online visa application portal, individuals can visit www.srilankaevisa.lk. Through this platform, the department aims to offer a quick and efficient visa application process, catering to the needs of tourists and investors. This endeavor is anticipated to contribute to the economic growth of Sri Lanka by increasing foreign exchange revenue and attracting investment.
